Heretic things

I started a heretic playthrough of Rogue Trader and I have to admit it has been altogether more unhinged and, dare I say it, chaotic than even I had anticipated.

My ship’s weaponry is possessed, and now I have to light fires in every fight or my own ship gets lit on fire… I had no idea these sorts of things would come up that permanently alter my gameplay

Corrupting the clergy

I just really wanted to see what all was different in a heretical game. And I was surprised that it was pretty much different right out of the gate. I assumed it would have not had big noticeable effects until later!

The Highwayman

I have only just realized that the country song “The Highwayman” was originally written by Jimmy Webb. I listened to his version recently, and it does seem to drive home the reincarnation message more clearly by having all the lives sung by the same person.

Of course there also seem to be other themes highlighted by The Highwaymen’s cover having all the lives sung by different people. Since all of the lives are people working dangerous but rather romanticized jobs, it also seems like it is more generally spirit of the working man.

I’ve always enjoyed the song and its themes, as I always really enjoy those sorts of romantic folklore tales.
