Steen’s home of the certainly strange
I’ve finally completed my lorica squamata (Latin for scale armor)! I took inspiration from Ancient Roman armor that was scales sewn into a fabric backing (rather than into chain mail, for a more lightweight and flexible haubergeon). It took me 2 months, 15,000 scales, and weighs 10 pounds.
It was my birthday this week, so I wore my uniform to look my very best, and made a rainbow cake with a D’deridex warbird on it 🙂
For some reason, I got obsessed with a Pirates of Penzance / Star Trek Online crossover in my brain so I had to draw the idea
