A Fistful of Gorn

I love the Dollars Trilogy and I loved STO’s whole western-themed Nimbus III storyline with its classic tropes, so I made a movie poster for the quest.

“Law” is one of my favorite characters because (if you’re a Romulan) he’s a essentially a mirror to your own captain. He’s probably the only one who can really understand everything you’ve given and lost for your cause, because he’s been there himself. Tovan tries to get you to talk about it, Kererek makes you see psychiatrists, but I can’t see you really opening about that up to anybody except Law.

He can’t judge you and you can’t judge him, because you’ve done just as bad when you were broken into submission by your captors, just as he was. His sins are your sins. You help him move away from wallowing in bitter cynicism towards his own salvation and closure, and in turn he devotes himself to helping you find your own.

I’m a sucker for that. Every time.

Crafting in Isolation

So since I’m stuck inside and I can’t go to the gym or rehearse with the string ensemble anymore due to Shelter in Place, I think I’ve been doing more crafting. Especially all the little details and fiddly bits that I’ve been putting off for a while.

Like priming and painting the emblem badges

And I finally lined the disruptor pistol holster with some suede the other day. So far as I can tell, the ones the actors wear on the show are unlined, but I thought it would look nice and swanky so I did it. Now I just gotta install the rivets and carabiner clips and it should be good to go.

Oh yeah, I’m gonna be the swankiest Romulan on the block. I’m gonna swagger on into town all like “Ladies” and all the ladies will be like “OMG who is he???”
