Living Godsona

My “Morrowind Living Godsona”

Some people on Twitter were drawing their “Living Godsonas” and it inspired me to do one.
I knew that, if I personally stole divinity from the Heart of Lorkhan, I would absolutely go full-on Divine Trickster, and I felt pretty strongly that I would take on the Cursed Appearance.
I hope you’re ready foooorrr…

  • Tricks!
  • Cunning!
  • Bad Puns!
  • A perfect fade that just stays That Way and that doesn’t have to get re-cut every frigging month!
  • More tricks that maybe were funny the first few times but now they’re just kind of getting annoying!

The trickster god represents to society that there is no authority or set or rules which is infallible. Not even what we think of as the “rules of nature,” even those are inaccurate and can/should be broken (this is why Divine Tricksters are often bisexual and/or gender fluid, etc – the very existence of the Divine Trickster forces you to challenge your assumptions about the world). They would drive people to question authoritarianism and absolutes. The Trickster also often fulfills the role of The Adversary, keeping the Divine Authority in check and disallowing them from taking their power for granted. This is why the role of the Divine Trickster is very important and revered in a pantheon.

I was also confronted with the fact that my Nerevarine is essentially another Living Godsona of myself and wondered how I would differentiate this one from her, but uuuuh… I didn’t. Oh well!

The Nightblade Hiring Process

Aryon: … how soon can you start?

I just thought it would be hilarious if Steen put “Blades Informant” on her resume – broadcasting her deepest darkest secret – because it is relevant work history! She doesn’t want a gap there, that’d look bad 😉 Also, I find the idea of a nightblade writing a resume at all to be hilarious. Also also I find “pharmacist” written in quotations to be hilarious. I’m easily amused, you see.

I’ve always imagined that Steen was hired for Master Aryon’s covert ops team and made her way up to spymaster. It is her job to take care of all the quiet work, so Aryon can keep his hands clean and be a public figure.

Field Work

“It’s quiet time, hinny.”

“Nightblades are spellcasters who use their magics to enhance mobility, concealment, and stealthy close combat. They have a sinister reputation, since many nightblades are thieves, enforcers, assassins, or covert agents.” – Nightblade description from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Just Steen doing a bit of field work. She has a very particular set of talents.

I also recently started imagining that Steen calls everybody “hinny” like the tod in Richard Adams’ “Plague Dogs.” Like calling everybody “sweety” or “honey.” It just makes her seem particularly roguish.
